University of the National Education Commission, Krakow

For over 70 years the Pedagogical University of Krakow has taken the lead among pedagogical higher education institutions in Poland, and it is also the oldest Pedagogical University in Poland. It is exceptional because of its high prestige, professional education and modernity.

The mission of the Pedagogical University is exercised by professional and experienced teaching staff who apply modern and up to date teaching content. It is also expressed through scientific research, outlining new fields of scientific development, transmitting knowledge, and developing and enriching the personalities of its graduates by educating them according to the highest European standards.

To our students we offer the latest achievements in the Humanities, and also in Social, Educational, Natural, Technical and Art studies. Our educational provision enables students to apply to several dozen fields of studies in first-cycle (Bachelor’s) and second-cycle (Master’s) degree programmes, as well as in third-cycle degree studies (Ph.D.), and post-graduate study courses.

Elżbieta Szczygieł PhD

Project Manager and researcher in SDG Labs.

I’m assistant professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Social Innovations, Institute of Law and Economics, Pedagogical University of Cracow. My research focuses on the quality of life with special attention on the responsible factors for households socio-economic development, as well as the implementation of circular economy concept into households` every day life and its impact on increasing of living standard. Moreover, my research interests include sustainable development and regional development analysed with using statistical methods. I have been involved in over than 30 research projects in the mention fields. I’m also a practitioner – I’ve worked for state and local authorities, in business and third sector. I’m the author of books and scientific articles in economics and management.
Privately, I like small and large literary forms.

Katarzyna Kowalska PhD

I’m assistant professor at Department of Economics and Economic Policy on Pedagogical University of Krakow. My research focuses on business ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), corporate competition, internationalisation of enterprises, marketing strategies, circular economy and business models for its implementation. I completed an internship and conducted training for the Craft Chamber of Small and Medium Entrepreneurship in Katowice. I’m a co-author of multi-variant location assessment of large-format retail facilities on selected local markets in Poland, as well as monographs and scientific articles in the field of economics.

Paulina Szyja PhD

My name is Paulina Szyja, I am a lecturer at the Pedagogical University of Cracow.
My scientific interests concern the trasformation towards the low-carbon economy and environmental security.
Personally I like mountains , wooden architecture, porcelain and books.

Renata Śliwa PhD

Researcher in SDG Labs

I’m an assistant professor in the Department of Economics and Economic Policy, Institute of Law and Economics, Pedagogical University of Cracow. My research focuses on the concept and development of social economy, as well as the regulatory aspects of economic processes. I have participated in research on social economy sector in Poland and Malopolska. Moreover, I was involved in the project for dual-degree studies in Social Economy second degree studies. Author of over 60 publications, over 10 research projects, advisor and member of scientific and social networks and associations.
